#5 Healthcare Resource CompanyThe Situation: The AdVantage Consulting Solution: Prior to clarifying the new goals of this business owner, we administered the MAPP ™, (Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential) Assessment to validate her motivations and determine what aspects of her business gave her the most pleasure. She needed to be sure she was heading in the right direction. One of the strongest aversions identified by MAPP ™ was “Routine, organized, methodical procedures ”, yet some of her most successful consulting work addressed “logistics ”. She was good at what she did she was sought after for her expertise she was paid well for her focus. And now she was responsible for routine, organized and methodical work much of the time! This was a large part of the business. What was necessary to do was first to prioritize the owner’s business responsibilities, and then to help her learn how to manage the things she could not delegate or eliminate. Incorporating elements of time management and goal setting into the coaching sessions, we worked together to set new goals based on her new awareness of the importance of managing personal motivations. Our coaching sessions helped her to examine and rearrange the responsibilities she had in her business that needed to be delegated, and our conversations helped to identify ways she could change the way she approached those duties.
The Results: The executive we worked with made changes in the way she approached work she was not highly motivated to do. She rearranged time she devoted to projects in order to focus on her strengths, and she freed up time to devote to professional growth and to marketing herself and her services. Her business has grown, and she is in greater demand as a consultant and speaker both domestically and internationally. |
