Job Profiling / Matching
“Endeavors succeed or fail because of the people involved. Only by attracting the best people will you accomplish great deeds. ” —Colin Powell
We invite you ask yourself the following important questions:

  • Do some of your employees seem to be misplaced in their jobs?
  • Is employee turnover a concern in your company?
  • Do you need to do Succession Management, but don't know where to start?
  • Do you know which employees on your staff should be promoted?
  • Do you help your employees plan for their own career development?
  • Can you readily decide what kind of person to hire when a new position is created?

Successful companies know that identifying the unique motivations that point to employee satisfaction and drive is the best way to stay ahead in the competitive marketplace. If employees leave a position, businesses experience reduced productivity, a rise in training costs, and a loss of valuable time.

The very best companies know that their best assets are their people these companies work to create an environment where the happiest, most creative people are attracted and retained. When choosing new employees, or selecting current employees for promotion or additional training, attention is paid to one’s motivation and potential, as well as job history and experience.

At AdVantage Consulting, we understand the pressures on businesses today to choose, develop and keep loyal, productive employees. To address this need, we offer customized programs for Job Profiling and Matching.

Job Profiling and Matching is the process of describing a position in a company according to the traits and characteristics an individual should ideally have in order to contribute to successful fulfillment of the job’s requirements.

Job Profiles
can be designed in more than one way:

  • First, by gathering input from those who most often rely on the work of a particular position —a supervisor, a client, a report, a colleague —the ideal description of a model employee can be designed and subsequently matched to prospective candidates for the job. Job Matching is more than identifying skills and experience it is about recognizing personal preferences that lend themselves to successful performance of expected work.
  • Another way to design a Job Profile is by identifying the characteristics of a “superstar ”, who already does excellent work for the type of position being described.Profiles of prospective candidates can then be matched to the profile of this high performing employee.

To match individuals to work available, we utilize one of the most unique assessment tools available today MAPP ™, Motivational Appraisal of Personal Potential. We are able to acquire data with high validity and reliability scores in this robust instrument, which includes sections on personality, vocation, and educational styles — all in one appraisal.

Personal motivations in categories like temperament, aptitude and vocational interests can be identified and rated according to their intensity. By charting these motivations, we can provide an understanding of the intricacies that keep individuals happy, thriving and effective in their work.

The benefits of Job Profiling and Matching can be seen at all levels of an organization. When attention is paid to the motivation and potential of employees, companies see consistently higher revenues, increased productivity, and positive customer / client relations. Funds traditionally needed for turnover and retraining can be redirected to succession management and positive company growth.

Managing employees’ talent through careful matching of motivations to work expectations is a winning strategy which allows companies to stay ahead of the competition!!
